Objectives:
to create examples of common perceptual tendencies
to apply the perception-checking skill to specific situations by creating complete perception checks
Overview:
In the initial post, we will be describing examples of times we have experienced common perceptual tendencies that our peers can use to practice perception-checking messages.
Then, in our responses, we will create perception checks for the situations posted by one of our peers as if we were the writer of the initial post back in their situation addressing the other person
Chose a post to respond to by scrolling through the initial posts until you find one that has had N0 responses yet.
Imagine that you are the person who wrote the original post, and you are/were in the situation that they describe in their post.
Write an ORIGINAL and COMPLETE perception check as if you are the person who originally posted and you are talking to the person they wrote about
The perception check should be in full sentences, but will probably be only 2-5 sentences long.
If the original post did not provide enough detail, feel free to create additional details that would be appropriate for the given context
To earn full credit, be sure your perception check follows all the guidelines from the lecture with clear distinct statements for all the parts:
Addresses the person (you and name or title)
Description of behavior
Two possible interpretations
