It is very important to evaluate and search for specific qualities in a health care professional in the selection of who will be part of the EHR implementation committee. There are many different types of tasks that need to be performed by this committee before moving on to the final phase of the EHR implementation process, however, many system implementation projects are essential keys to successful completion.

One major task that the implementation committee performs is to thoroughly test any new system before the go-live date. Testing and retesting any system and correcting any errors that present themselves while in test-mode is easier to catch and fix before the system is fully operational.

The second major task this committee is the training of the staff and any user of this new system. This task is extremely important because it the staff is not trained properly, or has a lack of understanding the results of the new system will cause dissatisfaction and low morale.

User Evaluation Tool - User satisfaction is an important element to system implementations. Create an evaluation tool to measure user satisfaction with system output, interface, training, and information systems staff. It should begin with a brief explanation of the system that was implemented. Create questions that will be asked and be sure to include a list of the people that will be interviewed. This evaluation tool should be about a page in length.
