ASSESSMENT

Using either an industrial, domestic or commercial example, create a template for a TPM program. The program should cover the key areas of:

- Introduction and inception of TPM.
- The process of focused improvement (FI).
- 5S (CANDO).
- Autonomous maintenance (AM).
- Planned maintenance (PM).

Cover the key aspects of each section, justify what parts of each section you would employ in the program and subsequently rationalise what the required outputs from each process would be. Discuss how you would gauge the success of such a program in both tangible and intangible outputs, for example with the machines, manpower, methods and materials directly and indirectly involved with TPM activities. Ensure that in at least one of the key sections you give a worked example of one of the maintenance techniques, such as:
- Why-why.
- PM analysis.
- Fishbone analysis or another technique you have researched.
