Lab 6-8: Creating custom page templates page 6-21
In this lab, you will divide your site into default and custom pages, then divide the custom pages into page sets and create a custom page template for each set.
Lab 7-2: Creating a navigation system checklist
In this lab, you will create a checklist containing the navigation conventions, principles, and common mistakes presented above. You can then use this checklist to assess the effectiveness of your Web site navigation systems.
Lab 8
You will revisit the Web site pages you built in this course and create versions of them for all three major device types: desktops/laptops, tablets and phones. For guidance, see the Responsive Web Design section in Lesson 5.
Revisit the page templates (sketches, wireframes, mockups) you built in lesson 6 and create versions of each that are optimized - form (presentation) and functionality (interaction) - for all three major devices: desktops/laptops, tablets and phones.
Note: Most of your responsive redesign work will be layout changes to accommodate the page objects to smaller or larger displays. Other things to consider: resizing images, leaving noncritical objects out or hiding them offscreen (viewable by swiping), ensuring that buttons are clickable/tappable at all display sizes, etc.
Based on the page templates you built in step 1, create optimized versions of each of your Web site pages for all three devices. You should end up with the entire Web site being equally effective (form and functionality) on all devices.
