Question: Create a disagreeable or agreeable response to the following post.

According to testing biases and the law, it is good to be aware of hidden biases, including the categories provided using Implicit Association Tests (IAT). IAT'S consist of various questions that search for hidden bias divided into 15 categories based on a person's previous thoughts and opinions. When I took the IAT's, I was not very surprised with my results because I believe I have not grown up judging others based on their religion, race, sexuality, or political views. I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I understand that everyone is different from one another. Although many of the IATs concluded that I did not have an automatic preference between each group, the categories that I feel more strongly about resulted in how I imagined. The results indicated that I did not have much preference regarding religion, race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, weight, and disability. However, I had slightly different preferences regarding weapons and political views. I was not surprised by these results because I always, and will always, do my best to be mindful of others' opinions based on these potential biases when developing and interpreting tests in the future.

As we know, tests may be particularly biased if administered to a population it was not originally intended for. I believe educational tests can be biased, especially state board exams that are meant for an enormous population. Educational tests are administered to a large population, including individuals with different language barriers and disabilities. Language and disability deficits can negatively impact the students learning process and scores on standardized tests (Abedi, 2009). Abedi (2009) suggests that these barriers may affect the validity of educational tests because the results will vary across the population. Although there are accommodations for language and disability deficits, the accommodation instructions are not always appropriate, and certain students may need different levels of support (Abedi, 2009).
