Part 1: Use a plain white paper to create a blood spatter pattern. You can use colored water, tomato soup, tomato juice, or ketchup (whatever is available) to create the spatter. Next, analyze the blood spatter for the following:

Characteristics, whether the blood spatter is elliptical, circular, splash, crenellated, a spurt, or a combination of different characteristics

The shape of the bloodstain

The angle from which the blood came

In a 1 to 2 page paper, document the blood spatter pattern experiment and its analyses-blood spatter pattern characteristics that you created in your experiment, shape of the bloodstain, and the angle from which the blood came.

Part 2: Create a crime scene based on the following scenario using SmartDraw. Document where the blood spatter is located and the characteristics of the blood spatter.

Scenario: At 10:34 p.m., police are called to 1520 Angle Drive. On entering the residence, the police discover three bodies lying on the living room's hardwood floor. The first body is lying toward the front of the entrance to the living room, next to a chair. The body is facing forward with a bullet to the head. There is blood found on the chair, and smeared blood on the floor, which there appears to have been an attempt to clean up. The second body is lying face down with three bullets to the general area of the heart. The body is toward the back of the room next to a coffee table and couch. There is blood on the table, couch, and floor next to the body. The third body is laying face forward, posed with arms crossed on the chest, with a shot to the head. There are blood drag marks from the front of the living room next to a window, where the curtains are drawn, and heavy blood spatter, to the middle of the room, where the body is now located.
