CPD is central to developing and enhancing services. The 3 topic areas which will be significant for continuing professional development in my career are identified. One of the important topic areas is job shadowing which refers to a form of training approach that assists individuals in understanding and acquiring knowledge by coaching (Rony, Lubis and Rizkyta, 2019). This topic area is selected because engaging in work shadowing will help the person acquire insight into the roles and responsibilities of other staff associates and divisions. It will help to reflect and learn from the experiences of others. With the help of this approach, a person can get an idea about the work role in a future career. It will aid in enhancing the skills or learning of an individual for continuing professional development.

Another significant topic area for a CPD career is attending ACWA events and conferences. This area is important and selected for continuous learning and career development because it offers training on a variety of topics which involve working with children and adolescents, keeping children safe, grief, prevention of suicide and core skills in family therapy. By gaining information on a range of topics, an individual can professionally develop in their career and enhance development. Participating in events and conferences can encourage a person to think creatively about professional growth.

Professional networking is another significant area that will help in CPD. However, professional networking is vital for career growth as it can aid in getting access to job opportunities, resources and career advice. Developing a robust network of industry professionals could contribute to career advancement and personal growth as well as long-term success (Raj, Fast and Fisher, 2017). It allows me to develop relationships with other professionals in my career and other associated fields. Building professional networks through workshops and conferences can facilitate continuing professional growth and networking opportunities. In addition, a robust professional network can assist a person to stay updated on the latest industry growth and give insights into the job market. attending networking events is crucial to build professional relationships and acquire access to valuable resources.
