TOPIC - Communicating with employees about significant company changes

1. Introduction (100 Words)

This is your PowerPoint presentation introduction slide with speaker notes.

2. Contemporary Challenges or Issues faced by business (Word Count: 1000)

Choose one of the following topics and prepare your presentation:

- Communicating during a global pandemic and the potential issues.

- Communicating with employees about significant company changes.

- Negotiating an international and cross-cultural IT business deal.

- Ethical issues in business communication.

a) Ensure your presentation must have research (in-text citations on slides and speaker notes) on the topic and have considered the components of effective communication throughout.

b) The following order of slides must be applied:

Slide 1: Introduction (50 words) Introduce the topic and yourself

Slide 2: Details background of the chosen topic (250 words)

A detailed explanation of the problem/ challenge/ issue (What/When/How/Why, etc.)

Slide 3: Link to theories (200 words)

What are the theories involved in business communication and how are they related to YOUR CHOSEN TOPIC.

Slide 4: Example solutions to the issue from real companies (200 words)

Based on your research which companies are facing the same issues/problems you have selected, and how they are dealing with the issue/problems.

Slide 5: Your own solution to the issue (200 words)

Based on research what solutions do you recommend to resolve the issues/problems? Make use of the theories you have studied and use of research and explain why your solution will work.

Slide 6: Conclusion (100 word)

In conclusion, summarised the key points of your presentation and do not provide any new information in conclusion.

Slide 7: Q & A

You do not have to write anything for this slide.

c) Timing of Presentation:

- 6 minutes slide presentation
- 4 minutes Q & A from Audience

3. Reflection: (3 slides with 500 words in the speaker's notes)

Reflecting upon your experiences from research for developing the PowerPoint presentation and the feedback from your formative submissions (or in-class activities), prepare 3 more slides covering the following three questions:

Slide 8- Based on the formative feedback / experiences gained from research for developing PowerPoint presentation slides, what went well and why? (200 words)

Slide 9- What improvements need to be made and why? (150 words)

Slide 10- What actions will you take to make suggested improvements? (150 words)

So, you are required to prepare 10 slides for the final submission (7 for Live Presentation and 3 for Reflection). All word counts are indicative.
