I. Introduction and Objective of the Assignment

The purpose of this assignment is developing an investment plan for a high net worth client. You will draw upon the entirety of the course content. In this assignment, you will play the role of a wealth manager. In the M8 Assignments and Activities folder, please download a copy of your client's profile to use as you develop the investment strategy.

You agree to act as a college friend's fiduciary. Your job is to construct an investment plan; establish goals and objectives for her and with he; advise her about the external environment; construct financial statements; introduce and educate her to insurance, taxes, and risk management, etc. Additionally, you will explain to Fiona how you want to be compensated for your work and ongoing engagement.

You will present Fiona a detailed plan via a 4-5 minute video presentation and a 2-3 page
executive report.

II. Assignment Questions

As you construct the investment plan and prepare your presentation, it is recommended that your formal proposal incorporates responses to the following questions:

a) What should the investment opportunity set be? What are the constraints?
b) In what products would you invest? What are the expected returns and risks? Which asset allocation makes the most sense, overall, in terms of returns, risks, and liquidity?
c) Do you have risk management and insurance in place to offset compensation? Think of liquidity when making investments.
d) Have you constructed a simple Statement of Financial Position?
e) What are the advantages and disadvantages of your policy and investment plan? Do you understand the risks in your portfolio?
f) In what markets would you invest? Would it be in the US, or globally? Why? Would you invest in different industries?
g) Why should your friend use you as her fiduciary? How can she be sure you will act in her best interests?

III. Steps for completing the assignment.

a) Read the High-Net-Worth Investor Client Profile located in the M8 Assignments and Activities folder in Blackboard.
b) Construct an investment plan (if you need to make assumptions/reference, do so and list the assumptions/sources in your executive summary).
c) Construct a statement of financial position.
d) Write an executive report (points will be taken off for submissions that exceed 3 pages). The structure of the executive report may include the following contents:
• Introduction: Set Goals & Expectations
• Financial Status Analysis: Opportunities & Constraints
• Statement of Financial Position
• Recommendation: Short-term & Long-term (Assets, Markets, Allocation)

• Conclusion

e) Prepare and practice a video presentation.
f) Record a 4-5 minute video presentation.
g) To submit the video, include the YouTube link with your submission (remember to set the privacy settings for your video as unlisted).
h) Submit the video and the written executive summary by the required deadline in Blackboard.

IV. Assignment Requirements and Format

Please complete a video pitch of your investment proposal. Assume your instructor is the investment committee evaluating your proposal. You will upload your video recording to YouTube and provide a link.

An additional component of this assignment is to submit a 2-3 page executive report of your proposed investment plan.

Your submission must adhere to APA guidelines for formatting. Please see Course Documents in Blackboard for a link to the APA guidelines.
