Consider the power system as designed below. The duty fluid is water, and has a mass flow 0.75 kg/ s and all piping through which the liquid flows has diameter 1'', while the steam pipes have diameter 3''. Between the pump and the spot 4, there are 20m of carbon steel pipe. Six 90° curves, two globe valves and a filter with a load loss equivalent to 3 times the load loss on a gate valve.
