The research paper will be conducted on the aircraft crash and emergency management of American Airlines flight 587 out of JFK that crashed in Belle Harbor, NY(Queens) on 12 November 2001.

Although all passengers and crew members on board the Airbus A300-600 aircraft did not survive, there were multiple collaborative efforts between the police departments, fire departments, and other operating agencies.

This aircraft accident was approximately one month after the terrorist attack on 9/11. Most of those emergency responders had to collaborate their efforts on a scale they had not seen before.

The paper must be supported with references and regulations applicable to the incident/plan. Remember that the nature of the class is aircraft crash and emergency management and the focus of the paper should revolve around this theme.

Papers that do not address this topic but focus instead on other important yet unrelated safety issues, will not grade well.
