In an attempt to decrease the drag on the car shown in Fig. 17.15 and described in Problem 17.14, the cylindrical rods are replaced by elongated elliptical cylinders having a length-to-breadth ratio of 8:1. By how much will the drag be reduced? Repeat for the Navy strut.
