Repeat the computations of Exercise 1 for various values of γ between γ = 0 and γ = 1, keeping α = β = (1 - γ)/2. Plot and discuss the significance of your results. Interpret your findings in terms of the coefficients Dij .

Exercise 1
Repeat computations of Exercise 2 for a plate with a = 5 m, b = 1 m. You may be able to use the simpler equation for long plates. Compare your answer with Figure 11.5.

Exercise 2
Compute the critical edge load N CR x for a plate simply supported around the boundary, with length a = 2 m (along x), width b = 1 m, t = 1 cm. The laminate is made of E-glass-polyester with Vf = 0.5 with a symmetric configuration defined by α = β = 0.2, γ = 0.6. Compare your answer with Figure 11.5.
