Q. Water flows over a dam at the rate of 550 kg/s and falls vertically 80 m before striking the turbine blades. Compute: (a) speed of the water just before striking the turbine blades (neglect air resistance), and (b) rate at which mechanical energy is transferred to the turbine blades, assuming 60 percent efficiency.
