Preparing for Fieldwork Placement

Your Fieldwork Placement is more likely to be successful for both you and the service when you are well prepared and motivated. The Fieldwork Placement Coordinator will facilitate Fieldwork Placement Seminars before the commencement of placement to discuss the following aspects with the students:
• the contact person to whom you will report to in the workplace
• the name of the Fieldwork Placement Coordinator at Acknowledge Education for you to contact if you have a problem
• the mentoring to be provided and skills to be learned on placement
• the tasks to be assessed during placement, including how and when
• the development and review of your learning goals in consultation with the Tertiary Supervisor (see p. 5) and Mentor Teacher
• the application of your Working with Children's Check
• workplace behaviour and etiquette (grooming, start and finish times, breaks)
• appropriate workplace clothing, including the provision of any personal protection items
• the ECA Code of Conducts and the service's Code of Conduct (service to provide)
• OHS issues, including the procedures to undertake in case of an accident, and
