Assignment7-Ch10-FLABULESS-Inventory

a) This case uses the Inventory module and it is important that you select the correct inventory item as well as the proper quantity on the transactions.

b) There are a couple of transactions where you have to remember to enter a minus sign in front of the quantity.

c) Do not do any reversing entries on transactions that involve inventory items unless you check with me first, since it might change your average unit cost in inventory.

d) Please be advised that freight revenue is not to be included in the calculation of commissions. Since the sales revenue for Assumpta Kisangel includes $100 in freight revenue, the commission should be based on Sales of $29,207 not $29,307.

NOTE: For this assignment, you must change an option so that the System Date appears on your printouts: Go to: Setup/Reports & Forms... and then click to put a checkmark beside "Print system date".

c) All Journal Entries: Sorted by Journal Number and including Corrections.

(format: Muriel's Murals -LASTNAME-FIRSTNAME) The name For this Assignment will be -Osibote –Temi. Remember to add your First and Last Initials to all Purchase Invoice Source Names. In the Textbook these Transactions will have the words "Purchase Invoice" in their Source Name. For example, "Cash Purchase Invoice" and "Purchase Invoice". Failure to do so could result in a mark of "0". e.g. MM-42FS (In the case of students having the same Initials for their First and Last name, an individual code will be assigned for each student).

To add your name to the company name open settings under related tasks, then click on information under company. There you will see the company name address and phone numbers. Simply add your name to the company name on this screen. Also, print off (or open up) the Solutions of the Journal Entries. You will be looking for a file called AllJEnts*.pdf. These Journal Entries will help you make correct Journal Entries as you complete your assignment. Solution in the folders to match Answers.

Marks will be lost if - Initials missing in Journal Entries which use “(Cash) Purchase Invoice” Source Names (you are Late Electronic Assignment Submission. Unless a valid reason has been communicated in advance of the due date to the instructor a mark of zero may be recorded for late assignments. Allowed to miss your initials in up to 25% of the required Journal Entries for each assignment). NOTE: If your initials do not appear in most (75%) Purchase Invoice Source Names OR if your initials ONLY appear in Adjusted Entries, this could mean a mark of zero.

LastName_Firstname is not included in the Company Name (i.e. Love It Again – SURNAME_FIRSTNAME), this could mean a mark of zero. Marks will be lost for each incorrect Journal Entry (which has not been adjusted). Marks will be lost for each group of 9 extra Journal Entries over the number of final Journal Entries in the Solution provided in Blackboard. This is excluding the first 9 extra Journal Entries which are allowed without penalty. For example, if the Solution has 100 Journal Entries, you can have 109 Journal Entries and not be penalized. If you have 110-119 Journal Entries, you will lose 5 marks and so on.

Marks will be lost for each incorrect Opening Balance for your Accounts. Marks will be lost for each incorrect (new) Account Names. Marks will be lost for each missing or incorrect Source Names in your Journal Entries. Marks will be lost for incorrect dates used to generate your reports. i.e. Sep 30 instead of Oct 1. Marks will be lost for forgetting to delete a “TEST Account”. Marks will be lost for not including accounts with a zero balance in your financial statements. Marks will be lost for forgetting the “%” details Column in the Comparative Balance Sheet or Comparative Income Statement (which are required for certain assignments only).
