Assessment
A key part of your learning will be preparation for your summative assessment. You will be provided feedback on your formative assessments, and this will help you to better understand what is required of you when you submit your summative assessment. Please see below guidance on your formative assessment and how to access your feedback.
Write a report of 1000 words
The report should take the form of a briefing for a chief executive from you on the following topic:
"The graduate employment market and emerging trends"
Students may focus on an industry of their choice. The report should provide some statistical information on graduate employment that is relevant to the industry and an analysis of the graduate skills (soft skills) required in the 21st century with recommendations for the CEO on a recruitment strategy to attract high calibre candidates to the industry. It should identify key skills and attributes based on literature on the subject and the assignment should be referenced using the Harvard referencing system
Report Guidelines
• Cover page (No table of contents or executive summary)
• Introduction - Describe the industry and what the report will cover
• Statistics from the ONS or other reputable sources
• Breakdown of preferred graduate skills based on literature search with analysis
• Conclusion
• Recommendations
• Harvard Reference list (not included in word count)
Summative Assessment 2 - Assessment (Mock Interview)
Assessment Brief - Assessment 2
Assessment task: Students will complete a mock interview for a graduate role and will submit a CV and optionally have a LinkedIn profile as a part of the interview process. Note the LinkedIn profile is not essential but if added can help with your standard CV to ensure that all relevant and important information for a job interview is available to the recruiter Place Your Order Now!
Students will not lose marks if they do not have a LinkedIn profile but it is a way to ensure that your CV is detailed and covers all of the information required
Assessment 2 job Interviews will take place in weeks 12, 13, and 14
Feedback will be given at the point of assessment and via Turnitin when the CV is uploaded. It is essential that the CV is uploaded to be awarded a mark for this assignment
Assessment criteria:
You will have an up-to-date CV outlining your personal skills and qualities, previous education and work experience with a short covering letter. The interview will be assessed using a variety of commonly asked questions for a graduate interview
• You will show an ability to analyse your strengths alongside recognising areas for improvement.
• Your CV will reflect your past experience and skills and attributes in accordance with the guidance given on CV development. If you have added started a LinkedIn profile then the link may be included on your CV
• You will be able to give clear and structured answers to a range of relevant interview questions. These will include questions on soft skills, business etiquette, your understanding of rules and values in an organisation, sustainability and climate change and transferable skills from previous roles and your career plan.
