Scenario

Mark is working in home care and is to see 10 clients in an eight-hour day. He receives a list of clients with specific times to make home visits based on the needs of the clients. He has three clients to see before his first break at 10:00 a.m.

Client Care List

Mrs. Smithers (0730)

Apply compression stockings in the a.m.
Take a blood glucose reading using a glucometer and record it.
The LPN will provide the dose of insulin to the client later.

Mr. Beaver (total care) (0830)

Complete a transfer of client with a ceiling lift in their bedroom to a commode.
Give client a shower.

Mrs. Ahmed (1000)

Medication assistance scheduled for 10:00 a.m. for eye drops and medications (level 3).

When Mark arrives to take Mrs. Smither's blood glucose reading, he finds that it is lower than the range on the care plan.
