TASK

You will introduce one application of microwave in medical field and also you design and investigate the operation of a microstrip low pass filter. The behavior of the filter needs to be analysed in terms of time and frequency responses, then present your analysis and justification in a clear and concise technical report.

1. PART A: Application of Microwave in medical filed
i. Provide a brief but technical introduction on application of microwave in medical field.
ii. It is recommended to use images and block diagrams.

2. PART B: Analysis of a Microstrip Lowpass Filter

1. Using the additional guidance provided for your assignment (as a separate file) design and analyse a Microstrip Lowpass Filter.

2. Demonstrate your results, analysis and investigate referring to your analysis and any theoretical information you may have learnt through your lecture or your research.

3. Answer these questions:

QUESTION: What results the three probes are showing? What information you get from these results about the working of the filter structure?

QUESTION: Which result is showing the low pass behavior of the filter?

QUESTION: How many pass bands exist for this filter operation? What are the pass band frequency ranges?

QUESTION: Extract Scattering Parameters
Write a formal technical report on your findings. Your report should contain an abstract, the problem statement, methodology and design set up, results and analysis, and conclusions.

Report

You are required to work individually. A formal report is required for this assignment. This aspect is not group work, so no collaborative or cooperative work of any kind is allowed. If your answers (wording) are same (or mostly same) as someone else's work, then you and all others involved will fail the assignment and all involved will be reported for plagiarism.
The report should not exceed a maximum of 1,500 words. The report should include:

5. Design set up (that could be screen shot of your design), results and analysis.
