Assignment - Modeling

Objective: Assess your understanding of data modelling and use of ER diagrams

Requirements

1. You need to submit One PDF file contains your answer (2 ERD diagrams) and any additional Text you would like to add if you want to explain, clarify, or justify any assumptions you made that were not included in the system description

2. You must include your name at the top of each page of the pdf (e.g. the header of each page)

3. Submit on WTClass ("Resources >> Assignments >> Assignment#1)

4. Use Draw.io or any drawing tool to draw you diagrams (no hand drawing).

Task:

Your task is to create conceptual model for the National Soccer League (NSL) database system using the description given below. Your answer should include
1. The main entities and their attributes
2. All the relationships between the identified entities, their cardinalities, and their attributes if there is any relationship with attributes.
3. The model must contain logical level details (keys and main attributes), and must be represented by two ER diagrams:
a) One high level ERD using Chen's notation
b) One detailed ERD using Crow's Foot notation.
The deliverable will be one pdf file contains the two ERD diagrams and any justification or assumptions you would like to include (see the requirements & submission section above).

National Soccer League (NSL) database system description:

The NSL has many teams, each team has a name, a city, a coach (just the coach name), a captain, and a group of players. Each player plays for only one team, and he has a name, a position (e.g., left wing, goalkeeper, ..., etc.), a skill level (rating, a number between 0-10), and zero or more history records (information about previous teams, injuries, prizes, achievements, ..,etc.). Each history record has a description and a start and an end dates of the event (e.g. "Man of the match", "09/12/2019","09/12/2019"). One of the players is designated as the team captain. The system needs to record information about each game played in the NSL. Each game is scheduled to be played between two teams at certain field (identified by a name, associated team, and location) on certain date. The team associated with the field is referred to as the "host team" and the other team as the "guest team". For each game, the score, the winner, and the time, team, and scorer of each goal should be recorded.
