Marie is a 35-year-old woman who has been recently diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease. The patient also has a past medical history of polycystic ovary syndrome, which she has been managing with metformin and lifestyle changes. For today's encounter, the patient complained of fatigue, swelling in their legs, and irregular periods. Given the patient's age, the patient is also concerned about their fertility because she and her partner are trying to conceive without success. In your response, you will answer all of the following writing prompts. In anatomy and physiology, you learned about the different stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Explain the changes that occur at each stage and how they may affect the body. Depending on the stage of CKD, are there different symptoms? If so, what are they?
