A secular humanist believes that humans are the ultimate source of truth, standards and values and right and wrong. There is some debate in the secular humanist camp regarding whether there is any responsibility to society. IN other words can a person pursue his/her own sexual choices without regard to others or is there a responsibility to respect the autonomy of others? Because secular humanism teaches that we are the highest evolved animal it should be no surprise that they legitimize human sexual behavior by comparing it to the behavior of animals. Therefore if animals are promiscuous and have numerouse mating partners it should be normal for humans to pursue the same behaviors. If animals engage in homosexual behavior it is okay for humans too. Of course the males of many species only get to mate during a specified time of the year and I don't hear too many secular humanists (at least the men) advocating that behavior for humans.
