Timeless medical system is an EMR that is an electronic double-checking system specifically for breast milk administration. The system records the date, time, and state of breast milk of each infant receiving breast milk. It is based on the infant's name and medical record number. The system allows breast milk to be safely used based on expiration dates and time. Due to the fact that breast milk is considered a bodily fluid, timeless is the electronic medical system that is used to make sure the right breast milk is given to the right patient. This system also helps the nursing staff and hospital system from potential sentinel events or lawsuits. The only downside to this system is that is a separate application that needs to be logged into separate from the EPIC system. This takes extra time the runs doesn't always have the time for. The easiest solution is for the hospital's informatics team were to work with the timeless system and integrate it into the single log-in system that already exists between multiple applications.
