Assignment Problem: You should use: Adobe Creative Suite Software to finish this assignment On an art board of 8 x 10 inches, use the word "composition" and one geometric shape of your choice to produce a number of alternative layout designs. Changing the proportions of the shape in relation to the size and weight of the type will help you begin to understand the visual relationship between space and composition. No other elements can be used with the word and geometric shape.

Here is a brief guideline for this project:

  • Use the word composition
  • Choose two classifications of type - serif and sans serif (you will utilize three different typefaces of each classification)
  • Experiment with variations based on that typeface, point size, weight (light, medium, and bold), letter spacing, upper and lower case
  • Choose any one geometric shape of your choice
  • You will end up with six individual compositions using black/white and/or gray scale (three designs will utilize three different serif fonts and the other designs will utilize three different sans serif fonts)
