Subject: Insecurity in the community

Hello everyone, I've taken the time to write this down as I see that there is a problem that needs to be solved. I have studied the problem for a while to see whether it will automatically solve itself but is only getting worse by the day. This memo is about our kids and the company they keep both at school and at home. We are all aware of how gang related crime has increased over the past few months and I think it's high time we do something about this.

Everyone watches the news and have seen and heard reports of children between 16 years to 20 years have involved themselves with gangs and have been initiated to it leading to the destruction of both their and our lives. We are losing a lot of children in our community especially when gang wars arise whereby they end killing each other on the streets. How well do you know your child? Does he/she talk to you? Do you know their friends or where they hang out after school? These are the questions you should be asking yourself before all hell breaks loose.
So, I am proposing that we form a Neighborhood watch whereby we will be able to monitor our community and keep it safe from these so called "gangs". I will be holding a meeting at my house on Saturday at 2p.m. and all are welcome. I will be looking forward to see you and here your suggestions and views about the above issue. Let's save our children and the community before it too late and start regretting. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
