Question: Traditionally, it was thought that the nucleus was the control center of the cell. Recent discoveries though, indicate that the nucleus in eukaryotes is merely a repository of genetic data, and that the cell membrane controls the expression of genes by serving as an interface with the external environment. Discuss the the evidence that supports the hypothesis of cell membrane control.
