Instructions:
You are required to analyse a case study and provide a comprehensive counselling plan which addresses biological, social (cultural/contextual), and psychological factors that contribute to the ongoing nature of the case study client's substance use. You will need to engage with current research (ideally the past decade) to provide an in-depth analysis of the biopsychosocial factors and their association with the ongoing substance use. Additionally, you will need to engage with current research to provide support for your counselling plan recommendations (i.e., counselling approach and specific strategies/interventions).
You should aim to:
Identify and analyse biological factors that pertain to the case client's ongoing substance use.
Identify and analyse social (including cultural) factors that pertain to the case client's ongoing substance use.
Identify and analyse psychological factors that pertain to the case client's ongoing substance use.
Create a comprehensive intervention plan that addresses the biopsychosocial factors identified in your analysis. Include the following in your plan:
Proposed short and long-term goals.
Proposed time frames.
Interventions to address each goal that links back to the biopsychosocial factors identified in your analysis.
Measurement devices to assess whether goal is met (e.g., client/counsellor report, substance use scale, etc.).
