2. Introduction to the history of Diversity Management in Australia: Legislation and unconscious bias.
3. Culture, ethnicity and racism in the workplace.
4. Gender Diversity in the workplace
5. Diversity and Inclusion Frameworks.
6. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, the workplace and Reconciliation Frameworks.
7. Disability and the workplace.
8. Cross Cultural Communication Styles.
9. The role of power, relationships and privilege in cross cultural communication.
10. Inclusive and Exclusive Language
11. Developing cultural competence and understanding of cultural bias
12. Ongoing ethical concerns and challenges.
Assessment 1: Analytical Essay
Evaluate why Australia linked multiculturalism to immigration and the impact of this on multiculturalism and diversity in the workplace today?
You must use APA 7 referencing. Your essay should include at least 8 scholarly journal articles that you have read, in addition to any textbook references. The format of your essay will be discussed in greater detail during tutorials.
