Question: Now that you've studied the basics of the seven dimensions of wellness, it's time to compare the recommendations contained within them to your own lifestyle choices.

Before completing the linked assignment below, carefully examine each of the dimensions of wellness in your own life. For each dimension, list as many actions you take to support that dimension in your life as you can. For example, under spiritual health, where it discusses an individual's need to search for meaning and purpose in life, you might ask yourself a question such as "What activities do I engage in to find my purpose?" For occupational health, you might explore the things you do to achieve a work/life balance.

Once you've done that, take the time to thoroughly analyze your lifestyle. The more details you can uncover now, the easier it'll be to complete the wheel of life assignment.

In the linked assignment document you will notice a questionnaire to assess each dimension of wellness in your personal life. This is the questionnaire you completed in class.

Next, indicate your satisfaction in each dimension visually on the "wheel of life". For the wheel portion of this assignment, indicate on the wheel where you currently feel you sit, on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 low, 10 high). Connect the dots - don't worry if the wheel you've created wouldn't roll! It's most common for this activity to result in the creation of something that looks more like a star than a wheel.

Finally, go back over the wheel and mark (with a different colour or shape) where you would eventually like to rank in each dimension.

Remember: you only have 24 hours in a day and a finite amount of energy. You cannot give 10/10 to all areas, therefore, areas that currently receive a great deal of attention may need to be scaled back so that you can give more to dimensions in need. This isn't about achieving perfection, rather it's about achieving balance!
