A roller coaster car of mass 250 kg has a speed of v0 = 12 m s-1 at point A, located at a height of h = 15 m. The car can move with no friction acting between points A and B.

(a) Find the speed of the car when it reaches point B. Use energy ideas.

(b) Once past point B, the car feels a friction force of 2000 N. How far from point B does the car travel before coming to rest?
