Problem:

Design a CE amplifier to meet one of the sets of specifications below.  Assume RI = 0 and R3 = ∞ for your calculations and use standard resistor values.  Calculate the Q-point, Av, Rin and Rout.  Simulate your design and compare with your calculations and with the specifications.  The simulations should include DC operating point, AC simulations of Av, Rin and Rout, and a transient simulation demonstrating an undistorted output. We will define "undistorted" as THD ≤ 3%. Repeat the gain simulation with RI = 100 W and R3 = 100 kW and comment on the effect.

(i) Av = 50 dB and Rin = 50 kW

(ii) Av = 46 dB and Rin = 100 kW

(iii) Av = 40 dB and Rin = 200 kW
