The following counting data are collected on a radioactive sample. Each of the number of counts is taken in an exact time interval of 1 min. The background counting rate is known accurately as 23 counts/min. Calculate the nominal value of the source counting rate and the uncertainty in the rate. Apply Chauvenet's criterion to eliminate some of the data if necessary. Assume that the Poisson distribution applies.
