Two solid bars are attached to each other and fixed to a wall on both ends. One is made of steel, is 14 in long, and has a diameter of 2 in. The other is made of brass, is 22 in long, and has a diameter of 4 in. If a torque of 16,000 in-lb is applied at the point where the two are joined, calculate the maximum amount of twist in the bar as a whole and the shear stress in both materials.
