A 10 kwatt, 480V , single phase 60Hz, 24 pole motor has an stator winding resistance of 0.1 ohm from line-to-neutral. The rotor is not a permanent magnet but a separately powered electromagnet (field wind-ings) that takes .5 A at 120 V. (The power to run this field is considered a loss) The friction losses, in-cluding windage, are 15 kW.
