A continuous and aligned fiber-reinforced composite has a cross-sectional area of 500 mm2 and is subjected to a longitudinal load of 50,000 N. The composite is 25 vol % fiber 75 vol% polycarbonate matrix. Assume isostrain exists in longitudinal direction. Boron fiber modulus of elasticity is 380 GPa; Polycarbonate modulus of elasticity is 2.4 GPa;

1. Calculate the fiber–matrix load ratio.
