A 1.20kg mass is placed on an inclined plane and released with an an initial speed of 3.00m/s. The block travels down the inclined plane, on to a horizontal surface and then collides with a spring (k=80.0N/m), which compresses and brings the block to a stop.

Neglecting friction, calculate the expected speed of the block when it reaches the base of the inclined plane.

Neglecting any friction along the surface and in the spring, calculate the expected compression distance of the spring at the moment when it brings the block to a complete stop.
