Question - Lead storage batteries use lead dioxide (PbO2) on the positive electrode, lead (Pb) on the negative electrode and diluted sulfuric acid (H2SO4) in the electrolyte. The equation related to the total reaction of the lead battery is expressed as follows and the electrode potential is as follows.

Positive equation PbO2 + 4H + SO4 + 2e ↔ PbSO4 + 2H2O E = 1.75 V

Negative electrode reaction: Pb + SO4 ↔ PbSO4 + 2e E = -0.32

In this case, calculate the electrode potential of the lead battery at the following sulfuric acid concentration ([H2SO4] = 4.5 M).
