A typical aluminum beverage can is 2.6 in. in diameter and 4.8 in. high. The thickness of the bottom is 0.010 in. and the wall thickness is 0.004 in. The cans are produced from circular blanks 0.010 in. thick by drawing, redrawing, and ironing to a height of 5.25 in. before trimming.

A. Calculate the diameter of the initial circular blank.

B. Calculate the total effective strain at the top of the cup from rolling, drawing, redrawing, and ironing.
