A 12.0 kg box is pulled along a horizontal surface by a force Fp at a 30° angle above the horizontal. The coefficient of static friction is ?s = 0.4 and the coefficient of kinetic friction is ?k = 0.3.

a) Show that a minimum of 44 N force must be applied at the given 30° angle to get the box moving.

b) Calculate the acceleration of the box assuming a force of magnitude 45 N is applied at the 30° angle.
