Question

A 57-year-old man consulted at the ER due to a bulging mass at the Left inguinal area. The man reports that the mass is more pronounced during prolonged periods of standing up or lifting heavy weights. The mass promptly goes away when he lies down. Physical examination done on the patient revealed a 4x3cm bulging mass at the Left inguinal area that is more pronounced on coughing and straining. The mass was only appreciated on straining upon lying down. Both testes are normal on examination.
