Bracewell Plc employ Bob as a driver and Evelyn as a salesperson. One day, Evelyn has to call on a client but as her car is in the garage being serviced she asked Bob if he would drive her to the client’s offices. Bob agreed, but when they were in the car he told Evelyn that he must first call by his home to collect a suit to take to the dry cleaners.

Whilst on the way to Bob’s house, Bob saw a patch of oil that had been spilt on the road and said to Evelyn “you see that oil; I’ll show you how to control a skid”. Bob then drove onto the patch of oil, but failed to control the subsequent skid and hit a wall. As a result Evelyn was injured, and a valuable painting that Evelyn was carrying in her briefcase was damaged beyond repair.

Advise Evelyn."
