Case: A 38-year-old man presents to the clinic complaining of frequent episodes of epigastric pain, nausea, and tiredness. He explains feeling constantly week and lethargic. His blood count shows signs of mild iron deficiency anemia. Upper GI endoscopy appeared normal, but biopsy specimens taken form the anturm and pyloric regions show evidence of Helicobacter pylori infection. Colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy showed no evidence of lesions in the large or small bowel. His past medical history indicated significant bouts of acid reflux disease and associated nausea.

Goal: In the following report, identify the most likely organ effected in this individual and the most likely diagnosis. Next, trace the pathway by which blood travels to, and returns from, this organ. Note this pathway should begin with deoxygenated blood in the right atrium of the heart, travel all the way to this organ, and then return back to the right atrium of the heart. Along the route, make sure to elaborate about the notable anatomical relationships and significant features along the way (for example if the route takes you through the arch of the aorta, make sure to describe notable branches in this area, valves in the heart ect.) Also note this route should include both arteries and veins in order to complete the necessary circulation loop.
