Please help me solve this, I'm not even sure how to show my work on this: A book falls off a shelf and lands on the floor. Which is greater, the book's average speed throughout the fall or its instantaneous speed right before (an instant) it lands? You can provide a sample calculation to support your answer, though you can't just make up any numbers (they have to be consistent and reasonable).
