BMMS610 - Method Statements for Medium Buildings - Institute of Canterbury
• Professional and tidy presentation of supporting information
• Clear communication of the project methodology
• Demonstration of knowledge of the process
Part 1
Observations on the project site constraints:
Show any project info (construction zone, storage area(s), entry & exit, hoarding, site office(s), fence line to separate public from construction zone and etc.) on the site plan.
Existing neighboring buildings for dictation of the crane plan, hours of works, noise levels and access.
Constraints to access, set-down, storage area and plant.
Any constraints to traffic management of the site and mitigation measures when required.
Any construction work(s) associated with the existing Block A and describe constraints to the proposed building.
Show on the site plan pedestrian accessible route and describe possible constraints to health and safety issues.
Address the constraints with proper description to the existing bowling green (i.e. hoarding).
Constraints to the site dewatering and construction of the basement (i.e. protection of the neighboring buildings)
Part 2
Project Description and Method:
Refer to the Russley Retirement Village Blocks B and C outline specification concept design issue Revision 1
Project (Project, Location, Project team, Consent Number) details
Other project information based on overall observation
The preliminary and site works (hoardings, parking, material storage area, installation of signage and etc.)
Special features (neighboring buildings and existing building of the retirement village)
Methodology (Refer to the Concept design issue 27 05 2013)
Construction sequence (Refer to the Concept design issue 27 05 2013, Reminder: Consider neighboring houses during the excavation and dewatering processes, and required services). Dividing the whole construction process into several phases and illustrating them on the plan will get you extra points
Part 3
ORGANISATION CHART:
Personnel: List of the project team members (i.e. contractor, subcontractor, consultant, project manager, QA/QC, and other relevant members supposed to be involved in the project.)
Off-site and on-site separation would be better for clear description of the organization chart.
Who reports to whom?
Part 4
PLANT:
Refer to the works have to be accomplished for any construction project
Concrete casting
Construction
Excavation
Geotechnical works
Lifting
Site/plant cleaning
Plant for any temporary works / services
Based on the size of the proposed project decide what capacity/size plant (appropriate one) you may need, as well as their models (i.e. Putzmeister Truck Mounted Concrete Boom Pump M28-4 Diesel Engine with 4 Outriggers)
Part 5
Temporary works:
Refer to the works have to be accomplished for any construction project.
Solid plastering access plan:
Detailed (platforms, handrails, etc.) scaffolding elevation could be drawn on the elevation plan
Prefer different color for any details on the elevation plan
