In this Experience Essay you have the opportunity to explain in essay form the meaning behind your Biophilia Mandala Self Portrait.

As in the Bibliophile Mandala Self Portrait itself, you must clearly represent each of the three perspectives: artistic, societal, and scientific. And you must also clearly show how the three perspectives intersect and interact specifically with you. Remember to think of Rachel Carson. She wrote Silent Spring, which was an intersection of her love and appreciation for the beauty of nature (artistic), her research on the dangers of pesticides/herbicides (scientific), and her advocacy to bring about awareness and change over the unregulated use of these chemicals (societal). Be creative.

• In your first paragraph introduce your mandala (maybe one sentence) and briefly describe it.
• In your second paragraph briefly describe in detail how your portrait conveys the Artistic perspective.
• In your third paragraph briefly describe in detail how your portrait conveys the Social perspective.
• In your fourth paragraph briefly describe in detail how your portrait conveys the Scientific perspective.
• In your final paragraph describe how the three perspectives intersect and interact with one another. Convey what nature means to you. Describe the overall meaning of your Biophilia Mandala.
