Assignment: MySQL Installation & Setup

For this assignment, you will be installing MySQL.

MySQL; Database Create

• The basic syntax for creating a database in MySQL is
  • CREATE DATABASE <database-name>;

Example

• CREATE DATABASE pysports;

MySQL: Show Databases

• SHOW DATABASES;

Note: these commands assume you have already started MySQL. If you are not sure how to install or sign-in to MySQL refer to the "MySQL Installation Guide."

Instructions

1. Based on your computer's Operating System, install MySQL using the following link: MySQL Installation Guide 
   
   • During the installation process make sure you take screenshots of the steps outlined.
2. Once MySQL has been installed, start the database through the terminal window.
   • Take a screenshot of the output from the show database command.
3. Using the guide I have provided, create a new database and name it pysports.
   • Take a screenshot of the code you used and the response from the terminal window.
4. Run the show database command.
   • Take a screenshot of the output window.
5. I want to see whether or not the database was created.
