Assignment Task

This assignment requires a poster presentation and a written report that demonstrate an introductory background knowledge to Global business and aims to provide a perspective on globalisation and how it affects business decisions and the challenges of internationalising your business. You will explore and understand the impact of culture in a changing global workplace in international business and develop a range of effective management strategies in response to the global environment.

DESCRIPTION OF THE TASK - WHAT YOU ARE BEING ASKED TO DO?

Question 1. Prepare an annotated Poster Presentation for the management team that covers the following
(i) the drivers behind globalisation
(ii) the benefits, and barriers to internationalisation of business.
(iii) the differences between domestic and international business
(iv) the role of WTO in international business
(v) the effects of trading blocs in international business.

This task covers LO1 and LO2 (1000 words)

Question 2. Prepare a report that demonstrates an understanding of trading across national boundaries and the impact on head office culture and global strategy (LO 3) 1,500 words.

The report should focus on the following:

(i) an introduction of the local company and its current market. (150 words)
(ii) protecting Intellectual Property Rights in a globalised economy. (150 words)
(iii) managing business functions in an international context. (250 words)
(iv) the impact of national cultures in international markets. (300 words)
(v) an assessment of entry strategies in international markets. (350 words)
(vi) an assessment of appropriate global strategy for the local company. (300 words)

The report should be written in the standard academic report format consisting of a table of contents, an introduction, and appropriate headings covering the above six points. You can use sub-headings as deemed appropriate. You must demonstrate evidence of wider research and reading of core textbooks and academic scholarly work through referencing.
