Healthcare Economics Research project -

A key component of graduate study at ADU is research. The objective of this research project is to give students the skills to critically evaluate pertinent literature and master basic research methodology. Using the paper "The Production of Health, an Exploratory Study" as benchmark,

a. Identify a vector of IVs that can be used as environmental variables (Xi) to derive a "global" production function for health based on the model presented below. Measure medical services or M (in the model) by health expenditures per capita. Measure H (health status or the outcome variable) by "life expectancy at birth.

b. Assess the statistical conditions of the selected model (F-value, and R²) and the viability of the chosen independent variables (standard error, t-value, p-value, theory agreement).

c. Estimate and assess the elasticity of health with respect to medical services (M).

The report should be approximately 6-15 pages in length, including tables, figures, and a list of references and be prepared following any recognized style format such as APA or MLA.
