Artificial Intelligence (AI), a discipline of computer science imitating human intelligence, is an emerging field and gaining increased application in these aspects of the HIM. This module outlines the role of AI in collecting, retrieving, and analyzing healthcare data, as well as extracting information from unstructured healthcare data for medical coding and billing, essential for the financial health of healthcare organizations, besides the challenges AI faces in performing these functions.
