Respond to the following opinions. This is a debate. Argue and be Pro-Globalization. Responses should include both a question that asks for clarification and a counterargument.

With the spread of globalization, more and more small businesses and individuals in foreign countries begin to suffer because of the aggressive dominance that globalization is bringing. Many who support globalization are ignorant to the fact that before these big companies set up shop, there was a fully functioning society there beforehand. They may not have been as developed as major countries, but they made and traded their own goods. When a new nation comes in, they reorganize the entire country so that this country will then produce goods for them. By doing this, it takes away from their culture and their original market. Globalization weakens small businesses because of how competitive the large corporation makes it. Most often, finances are controlled by the large corporation and the land used and workers do not get treated fairly.

"Globalization" as stated in Globalization, a Short History is summarized as "a wide spectrum of experiences shared by many people. For one, the people of the world's wealthy nations find (nearly) the entire world at their doorstep everyday thanks to modern forms of consumption and communication. For another, the breakup of the isolated world of the Soviet bloc appears to have left the planet as a whole permeated by uniform principles of modern Western lifestyles."

Globalization, yes has created newer technologies, and ways of communicating with each other across the globe, but it has also created more distance in its closeness. Those who were poor remained poor or became poorer, and those few who were wealthy became wealthier. Some would argue that the poor were unintelligent and should have figured how to create more wealth for themselves, but in order for the poor to do that they would have needed resources, resources that with globalization should have been available to them but were not.
